Pink Tapers vs. Panther Switch

What Panther compound would you recomend for a track that is a "pink taper" track?

clay, soft, med soft, super soft.... not sure where to start

The Panther clay compound is supposed to be the equivalent of the Losi pink compound.

Yup. Was in the process of typing my post when you posted yours.

I have heard that it was Losi's "old" pink compound.

So I guess everyone runs the clay.

Thanks

The Panther Clay is much harder than the Losi Pink. There really is no equivalent to Losi Pinks. I would think that if you can't get Pink Tapers, then Pink Xs (2 or 3), would probably be the next best.

so what's the difference between the switch and the 2.0?

The 2.0 has a slightly different tread pattern. I think the 2.0 is supposed to give more side bite.

2.0's have a rib on both edges of the tire (taper pins have one rib), switch's do not have any ribs.

2.0 looks like a pretty legit tread pattern for hard-packed tracks! I might try a pair and see what I think.

racenut123 10-03-2007 11:31 PM

Hard packed and dry, they were dialed with Bomb1 grey inserts.

mafiaracers 10-03-2007 11:43 PM

how dry? like light brown and dusty or dry racing line and still ever-so mildly damp outside line?

racenut123 10-03-2007 11:47 PM

We have not water the track in about 3 days.Swept the line and no blue groove........yet:sneaky:
