I run one of the MFE versions at Westcoast (indoor clay) and was wondering what combinations were good for weight and springs. I have the yellow green ones on the back and the red in the front, just like the ones in the previous post. The suspension seems really stiff. I am coming from a buggy and not sure if this is the way it is supposed to be. What is good?

Try this setup. I ran a slightly tweaked version of this but the Adam Drake setup is a great starting point.

Are the yellow springs in this setup, the ones in the previous post with the picture?

Yes those are the yellow springs. I normally ran pink but try the drake setup and see how you like it.

Anybody have a suggestion on gearing a 21.5 Novak in a XXX-T CR? It's for my son who is 7. It's running an old Havoc Pro so it will not have boost. Right now I find myself limiting his EPA for throttle around 65% with a 17.5. Want to move the 17.5 to his XXX-T Exotech convert I'm building him now and wondering if putting him on a 21.5 and setting the EPA higher would better for him at the moment. Any suggestions appreciated!

Sounds like the same gearing you are using on the 17.5 should get you just about right with the 21.5 because of the difference in rpm per volt. I would guess 100% EPA on the 21.5 will be perfect for him.

Just check temps after a few minutes to make sure its not getting hot from undergearing.

Personally I think the 21.5 is the perfect young kids/novice racing motor.

When a setup calls for rear hub spacing "back", does that mean the spacers are in back or the carriers are in back? Thanks!

Carriers all the way back... To make for a longer wheel base
