Default Rustler XL5 Not Running 100%

I am new to the rc world. My new Traxxas Rustler XL5 is giving me hell. I thought is was my battery so I bought a new battery 3300NIMH. That did not help. So I bought a new charger. That did not help either. So I am running out of ideas. Sometimes it will go pretty well and sometimes it will not. I noticed that the reverse works great. I checked all factory settings, and reprogrammed the ESC. I am out of ideas. Help me please.

I just bought a new Duratraxx INtellipeak pulse charger. supposed to be a good charger I hope. Sometimes the truck runs ok. It seems to wind the motor up more in reverse. It also seems to glitch every now and then.

Is your radio's throttle channel (channel 2) set in reverse mode? If I remember correctly, the traxxas TQ radios have a 70/30 switch on the throttle trigger, and if the ESC is set up with your throttle channel in reverse, it may be receiving more throttle input in reverse than in forward.

First, make sure the ESC is setup correctly. It should have come with a manual - read it over and try to reset the speed control to box stock settings.

Sounds like you need to true the motor and change the brushes.
Or just clean it real good with a com stick and some motor cleaner.
