Ha ha! I must still be buzzed from all that traction compound!

I dunno' Nitro doesn't eat money for me I guess.. Carpet racing and on-road has to cost more. All those foam tires buzzed down? We stray further off topic.. Sorry.

I am surprised that nobody else seems to think voltage regulation is as good an idea as I do. It would do away with the battery war and I think that's one of the appealing things about nitro, from the least expensive engines to the most the power difference is not very large (not like weak cells vs. top notch ones).

Thank you sir. Actually Indy is a great town. No mountains or oceans, but a lot of great culture.
Come see us for WinterFest in December. We've had factory guys race it in the past, and I hope to get them back again.
Racers wanna race and manufacturers wanna sell stuff. I used to race and now I sell stuff, and the racing will always be #1 for me although I do gotta pay the bills.

Hey, wait a minute. I came to this thread expecting to read about 5 cells. What I found is the usual blithering argument about Ni-MH vs Lipo.

Frank, what happened here?

Yea and elec vs. nitro cost, plus some other off topic stuff. But 'blithering idiot'? Hmm

Oh sorry, I think we were responding to this part of the first post:
"I have talked with many people in the industry, and they all agree 1/10 RC should go to 5-cells. And not just mod tc, every discipline and every class, stock to mod. I agree. Right now, 6 cells is 7.2v and 2s Lipo is 7.4v no big deal. But 5 cells is 6.0v, the right range. There is no way to get Lipo in that range. It is simply 3.7 or 7.4.. to little or too much...lose-lose. The real change to reduce cost all around... tire wear, cheaper battery, longer motor life, longer electronics life, ect. ect..."

First paragraph brought up the lipo comparison. I may be a blithering idiot, but at least I have reading comprehension...

Oh, I comprehend. The thread is really about 6 cell vs 5 cell and other chose it to be a lipo vs non-lipo arguement (as usual)

Really? The thread author (you know Frank) brings up lipo TWICE in his opening paragraph and how he wants it permanently invalidated for racing and it doesn't involve nimh vs. lipo somehow?

If you actually read what he said, you will notice that he says that the diff between 6 cells and Lipo is no big deal and that there is no way to get lipo in to the 5 cell range so that kind of rules the kipo vs non-lipo relevance out of the arguement.

The real meat of the thread is in this quote

Notice, no mention of Lipo. Oh, and yes, I do know Frank. Thanks for asking.

This is all I will say on the subject. I don't get in to blithering arguements.

Yes the rest of the post was about 5 cell while the beginning was about "so sorry lipo users I'd like to completely wipe out your chances for legalization and here's why".

I honestly don't care what you think the topic here is.

How many posts after your last word on the topic are we going to get?

Don't need to be a mind reader when he spells it out throughout the thread.
