Default Reedy Offroad race

With offroad on the climb back up, has there been any thoughts to bringing back the Reedy offroad race? Man that was some of the best racing. 2wd and 4wd. Not the truck stuff. The old school goodness. I bet if you asked a lot of the pros they'd love to see it come back.

He's talking about the original Reedy Race of Champions, not the current Reedy Truck race. The original was 2wd and 4wd only. Modified only, with an INVITATIONAL class and a OPEN class. Basically just like the Reedy Touring car Race, without 19T. And I say if it comes back, leave out the 19T.

I think they should do the race exactly as the Reedy TC Race. 32 Invites, 4 Races 2wd, 4 races 4wd. 50 Open Mod 4wd entries, 50 Open Mod 2wd entries, 4 rounds of Qualifying, triple A mains, 30 19t 2wd, 30 19t 4wd, triple mains.

That would be SWEET!

BTW, I nomintaly Competition Hobbies in Tucson, AZ. Best Track in the World without a big race.....

That was one of my favorite races back in the day. Bring it back just as it was, Invitational, 2wd Mod, 4wd mod. If you cant drive mod, stay home.

The invitational class was 6 rounds, randomly sorted drivers, no qualifiers, every race was a main event. Driver who got first in their race got 1 point, second place got 2 points and down to tenth. One round of each 2wd and 4wd was a throw-out round which was used in the event of a tie. The driver with the least amount of points between both 2wd and 4wd was declared winner.

Probably the best race R/C ever had, even tougher to win than the worlds. Not only did you have to get invited to make the show, but you had to do well at both classes.

Wow Dave!! That is a great idea! Your first one in months! lol.

I think this would be awesome. Even now that 4wd is bigger then it was back then with more and more companies producing 4wd cars. Was always cool to watch 20 of the worlds best go heads up for 2 days.

Who do we need to beg to make this happen?

Heck yes! Bring back the Reedy Offroad Invitationals!!!!!!!!!

I have the Reedy Offroad Races from:

98-2 wheel only

99-2 wheel and 4 wheel

2000-2 wheel and 4 wheel

2001-2 wheel and Truck

I also have:

97 Worlds A Mains 2 wheel and 4 wheel and lots of practice

99-Roar Offroad Nationals A Mains

And Reedy Touring Cars:

2002 Invite and A Mains

2004 Invite and A Mains

2005 Invite and A Mains

2007 Invite and A Mains

I can make DVDs of any or all of them.
These I video taped myself.

I also bought the Associated Video tapes mentioned earlier in this thread:

R/C CAR RACING 91
" " 93
" " 94
" " 95
" " 96

I've got Trinity's Video of the 97 Worlds

And Mr. Video's 96 ROAR OFFROAD NATIONALS

Not sure if I'd be allowed to copy those though.

PM me if you see something you like

You should seriously encode these and place them up on the net man, maybe the R/C tech forums could host them on there own server, nothing copyright about your own footage, i think everyone should get to view them , thats some good races you have there man.

Well first you need somebody willing to organize the race. Like a JB or a Scotty. Then you need to get the companies on board with the idea. Then you find a place that will host it. The rest if gravy
