2007 IFMAR 1/10th Offroad Worlds

I had the Ultima and Ultima Pro and Ultima Pro XL, and can easily say they were just as good or better than the RC10's of the time.
Of course now I'm racing an RC10T and building a couple RC10's, so go figure.
Optimas and Lazers were the best out there. Yokomo had Masami.
Now the new Ultima and Lazer are equal to everything else out there.

That makes two of us.
MIP, Thorp, A&L et al also did fun stuff for the Ultima.
The best car I ever had was a Pro XL with a Jrx-Pro front shock tower and A&L belt drive.
How can Losi as a team skip the worlds?!

I dare to say that in case of the Lazer ZX5 : that's just not true. Quality is second rate compared to the competition. I was glad to get rid of it and buy a TRF501X. Waaaaaay better car out of the box.
Can't say anything about the Ultima RB5, but it seems parts quality of the 2wd is up compared to the ZX5.

kyosho
whos driving the kyosho at the worlds? It all depends on whos piloting the cars as to weather they will feature at the pointy end.

Lack of top offroad drivers is going to be the problem for Tamiya and perhaps Hotbodies.
In 4wd, my money is on Masami and the Yokomo with a strong challenge from Cavalieri and the B44.
2wd : You can't ignore the current dominace of the Ryans and the B4.

I think Associated will take both titles. They have the best drivers right now.
#55
the japanese drivers will be hard to beat.I agree Masami should be right at the pointy end in 4WD

I don't think Masami is as 'on the ball' as Hayato Matsuzaki at the moment. Hayato is just crazy at Ichirino too (from what I've followed). There's a whole bunch of dudes in Japan that have just as much chance as Masami for the win.
My money is on Cavalieri for 4wd. That dude's unstoppable at the moment! not to mention Ryan Maifield... are they all heading over?
It's too hard to say! I just know it's going to be a meet not to be missed, thats for sure! So many manufacturers/chassis, so many top drivers... very exciting!

just to add some fule to the fire: This wekend at the Hot Rod Shoot out, Hara and Peanut were running an X-6. There was just a one race agreement but now there are some Q's. Hara won A3 and took the 2nd overall in 2wd. Peanut ran really strong but had trouble with some other people. The cars were box stock. Oh ya, and Kinwald finished top 3 in the B main after a 2 year break. The X-6 is going to be a factor.
