Default Kyosho Lazer + Mamba = WOW

I normally run my nitro buggy and truggy at the local off-road track. I wanted to try something different so I got a Kyosho Lazer ZX5 and I installed a Mamba Max 7700. Normally at the track my nitro cars tap out around 34mph down the main straight (about 50 feet). My Kyosho using regular 3300 NiMH batteries was able to keep up with the nitro cars. I got a Maxamp 6000HV 2S2P lipo pack today and put it in the Lazer and took it for a spin around the block. WOW.. this thing has to be twice as fast as it was before the lipo’s. Next time I get out to the track I will radar it and see how fast it is going now. I can’t believe how much the NiMH battery was holding back the motor.

If you had decent NiMh batteries, it wouldn't be faster with a LiPo.

A 7700 would be stupid fast. I've had mine past 40 on radar with a 5800 Novak...with a 3600 stick pack.

What run times where you getting?
I run 6900kv in my BJ4 and with 4 year old 3300 I get 15 - 20 minutes on a large track going flat out

Cheers
