Default Best brushless and LiPo for 4wd?

What are the top guys using now for brushless?

I'm buying a BJ4 (original version) and want the best system that won't thermal on me but be as fast as the 9 single I used to run in it.

Suggestions on...

ESC
Motor
LiPo packs
Charger

It's hard to beat the Peak and Orion cells...the soft cells get really beat up against the battery posts when you hit stuff. I have a friend that killed a MaxAmps 6000 cell that way.

The case on my Platinums are squished in, but the cells aren't all the way at the end...2 years and they're still kickin'.

I would suggest using the LRP Spere TC spec speedo with the LRP Vector 5.5 turn BL with a sintered rotor. This is the basic set-up the factory J-Concepts/LRP drivers use.

The Duratrax ICE is probably the most economically priced charger and can do everything. I just started using the LRP Pulsar 3 which has Lipo charging capability and works very well. It is probably the best pro level charger available and is extremely easy to use.

This is a good battery.

For $10 more, you can get the better one with the hard case...

there's a group of us at the track running novak GTbs,from 6.5 to 10.5 turns.
With a sintered rotor and a fan on the esc, we run 10 minute mains in 90 degree temps without thermalling. 4800 orions charged on ice chargers is the hot setup

I have used the bonded and sintered. The bonded is smoother but will "wear out" faster than the sintered. I think the sintered is better for durability and consistency. It also gives you more punch.

Peak does have a brushless motor. But I know longer have anything to do with Peak/Team Orion as an employee or team driver. So you will have to contact them directly for product specifics.
