Most important choice when choosing any car is to make sure you can get parts and support for your car at your local track/hobby shop. The BJ4 and TRF501X are very expensive for what they are IMO, you can buy a Losi 8ight for the price they are asking for these electric buggies and thats a joke...

There is nothing wrong with the Losi XX4 WE and XXX4 G+ if you are a capable driver and can set it up right, and it is half the price and marginally cheaper than nearly all the other top end 4wd`s, can buy nearly 2x XXX4G+`s for the price of a BJ4 or TRF501X. I honestly prefer to run cars that have easy parts replacement and cars that are well supported, that said, i have been racing for many years so i can drive and set up most cars to handle perfect for me regardless of brand and championships it has won.

Tamiya's buggy isn't worth it IMO. Expensive and hasn't been proven.

with the BJ4 and the 501X you are getting precision quality products.the losi is a very nice buggy and will work fine but you will get what you pay for.this area of the hobby is now going through the same thing that TC did about 3 or 4 years ago.the TC3 factory team was a great car and you could buy one for under 300 dollars.it had minimal machined parts,not very accurate but performed extremely well.now the TC's are sniffing 500 for a few of them and have outragous machining done on them.the cars are 100 times more accurate,it cost alot more money to make but the end result,you have a much more precise machine.honestly i dont think that it is necesary but hell,this is a hobby.i can go fast with all of them,they all handle well,but 2 of them make the rest look like toys.i will want to have one of the 2 that are pleasing to look at.this will not be everyones choice but it is mine.i am very pleased with the 501X.the looks,performance,and the accuracy of the car make me a very pleased customer. The BJ4 is in the same boat.extremely accurate,nice looking,handles extremely well.it is never a waste of money if that is what someone is looking for.i personally had a hard time deciding between the BJ4 and 501x.they were the only 2 i was deciding between.i went with the 501x because the look of it just edged out the BJ4 for me.both are kick ass cars.as are the losi,kyosho and mrc.i just prefer the high quality.

What does "way better for the price" mean? It implies that they are not as good, but pretty good for what they cost. The problem with that is most racers want the best car, even if it's more expensive. How many racers would say, "I'm satisfied with 8th place, because I saved over $100 when I bought my kit last year."

I really like my 501x, I got mine right when they came out just because I had seen the Tamiya touring cars and how sweet they were. I also run an electric powered Losi 8ight and the handling is very similar.
I ran an www.rcproductsdesigns.com TC3 O V2 4wd buggy and a XX4 before I got my Tamiya and I would never go back.
