Default x1-cr pbs conversion question

i am installing the pbs conversion on my x1-cr and have a problem. the big aluminum grub screws do not go in far enough to snug up the pillow balls. when the grub screws bottom out there is still about 1/8th inch of play in the pillow balls. i installed the plastic washers with the concave side towards the ball. it seems as though there should be another washer/spacer in the assembly or the grub screws should be able to thread in further. what am i doind wrong?

You have to torque down on the aluminum grub screw with enough force for it to cut its own new threads in the plastic hub. It's designed that way so that it won't back out when you are driving.

I know it doesn't sound right, especially since the instructions say "do not overtighten", but that's what you have to do. What they mean by not overtightening is to make sure you leave enough room for the pillow balls to move freely once it is tightened down.

Default same here

If it'll make you feel better. I came across the same problem as you to a T, when installing the pbs conversion. It doesn't look right to me. If you get any answers could you help me out too? Thanks Glenn
