What is the Traxxas Bandit Extreme Sports XL-5 RTR like?

They are very durable and look very sweet now. How rough is your backyard? You may want to look at a stadium truck (Rustler) or even a monster truck (stampede) if it is rough terrain

backyard has some bumps, but I want to really go for a buggy,

I have a monster truck (ezilla) great truck but the truning circle is too large.

I already have an evader, but really heard great things about traxxas cars and want to give them a try.

I read the specs, 12 turn 550 motor. I am pretty sure it will scream.

How good are the shocks, I need it to handle little bumps.

The vehicle should be fine for what you are wanting to do.

You could also look into a 4wd buggy, really fun bashing with something that has 4wd to pull itself over things.
