I wanna come back!! RE: new purchase

Hello all, I want to get back into the hobby after many years away. I used to run all electric. But now am thinking of a Traxxas Evo. What are your opinions please? I want to use it for fun, possibly "friendly" racing, is there such a thing?

I dont know much about the Traxxas evo. I go racing quite a bit and Ive never heard of one so i would think if you are looking to possibly race it would be a poor choice. You could however buy a Revo and race that at most any offroad track in the monster truck class.

Personally I would buy an 1/8th buggy. Its the most popular class and they are pretty durable also. Truggies are also good choices if your looking for something a little easier to drive.

If you like the MT's, the revo would be the way to go if you're going to race it.

In my opinion at least.

That would work fine if your local track has an unlimited monster truck class. I'd check with them first it wont be too much fun if you have to race against truggies. But for a basher that would be sweet. You can get parts for it right?

I would suggest the REVO over the Duratrax. My reasoning is that at our track (http://www.planetrcraceway.com/default.asp) there are always 3 or 4 REVO's and I haven't seen any of the other one. So not only do you have to consider parts availability, but also support. It's a lot less fun if you are the only driver with a particular model.

good choice stuball, seems like everywhere I go to race there is always a class of monster trucks for the Revo. And for about $40 more you can totally set the truck up for racing competitevly and never touch it.

Welcome back, have fun with it...
