I will be getting this in a few weeks for my birthday, and I need to know what batteries to run, I'll need two most likely for a back-up when one is charging and the other one out in the car running it. I was told by my hobby shop that i should get 1500's because they are cheap and get pretty good life out of them... it's cheaper to get 1500's (two of them) then to get one 3000. They had shark 1500's there, but I did not like the looks of quality they had. Any suggestions? And a charger? The guy showed me a Piranha Digital Peak Charger, is this a good one?

I would stay away from 1500's if i were you i'd get these:

then after you get serious you can get into the expensive world of "matched" packs, but for messing around i see nothing wrong with these nicad 2400's.

and probably since your new a pirahna digital peak charger would be an excellent charger to get.
