Here are a couple of old pictures of mine. It looks quite a bit different now from changes made allong the way, but it should give you a basic idea. Also look in the 808 thread. Edumakated posted a couple pictures of his 808 conversion. http://www.rctech.net/forum/5357046-post3391.html
Anyone else seen a Nue with a front endbell like this? I just sent my almost 3 year old 1515/2.5D in to Neu to have the bearings replaced and a generall tune up done. ( noticed the bearings getting a bit loud during a bench test and figured it was due after almost 3 years of running in the dirt. lol)
Anyway, they told me that the motor was too old and they didnt have bearings for that type of motor can any more so they needed to replace the whole can. What I got back was something I havent seen before. It used to be the front and sides of the motor can were one solid piece, this one looks like it has the front screwed into the main part of the can and then a set crew through the side to keep it from unthreading, and the front cover now has both 3mm mount holes and 4mm mount holes in it. I havent seen this before, but most of my neus have been around for a while now so I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this on one of their newer motors. The 4mm mount holes could be good for those using the Losi conversion motor mount that has 4mm holes in it.
Oh Yea... and the front bearing on it is HUGE now compared to the one that was on there.

Check out the layout on this 1/10 4wd buggy. This is what I would love to see in e 1/8. The f/r diffs have the pinion shaft comming out at an upward angle allowing the battery to go under the center driveshaft.
Take this buggy move the motor diff assembly all the way to the back as far as you can and have a single battery go across the chassis under the front drive shaft and then have the servo and Rx box in the front. ESC would sit on the other side of the chassis in the back opposite the motor.
That would be a perfectly balanced layout for a 1/8 e buggy.
I just built a FT rc8t and I'm going to run 5s. which motor and pinon do I need? I've read this forum till I couldn't see anymore , wow lot's of info.
Thanks
I would say use the following link and gear for a top speed of 35 - 40 mph, this is assuming you know what motor you are going to use already of course.
Well, got my RC8T all dissassembled ready for a good cleaning, and here is what I found:
Anyone seen this happen to anyone before? Conversions or not? I had a crash with a couple of tangled up vehicles about 3/4 down the long straight. this also broke the little plastic front chassis brace part that goes into the front aluminum top plate. (broke this part twice).
Another thing I noticed but I am not sure if its an issue as my RCPD conversion doesn't show this is that when I looked at the RCM motor mount, it has like a very slight curve / bow towards the end farthest from where the center diff goes in. maybe about 1/4" in from the end, if that and ever so slight that you really would be looking for it to notice. Looking at pics from before taking the vehicle out for its first run, it seems like its already there, and I am not sure how I could slightly bow the end like that when the motor was mounted in further than where it occurred. There is no other bowing anywhere on the mount and the motor sits nice and flat still.

A friend of mine with a RCM motor mount on a Kyosho lawn darted and bent the motor mount. He tried to straighten it but could never get it right. he ended up getting a RCPD mount. He will never bend it.

do you recall where he bent the mount at? I would think that if the mount bends, it should bend closer to the center of the mount, as that is where the force would be applied around by the the motor.
I'll post pics tonight of what I am seeing.

The RC8T handles awesome, but seems like its pretty weak to me. Ive broken quite a few things on mine alreay. Not the motor mount though. Seems like it would take something pretty sever for that to bend. Ive never bent one in any vehicle.
But the chassis braces in the RC8T are junk IMO. Ive bent the rear (looks just like yours), and broken the plastic end on the front brace twice now also. I just ordered the King Headz RC8T chassis braces. Carolinas RC has them in stock (or they did yesterday) Ive also broken the the rear wheel hub uprights like crazy (2 lefts and 1 right) and bent hinge pins like they are butter. I replaced the rear wheel uprights with Kings Headz also and changed out all of the hinge pins for some spare Xray pins I had left over from my XT8 and havent bent one since. I have also broke a steering turnbuckle end and I even snapped the front bumper clean off at last sundays race. Never seen anything like that before. I didnt even hit anything. It was just gone after one of the qualifier heats.
All of this is 3 race days. I didnt break that mant parts on my XT8 in the entire year+ that I owned it!!
The handeling on the RC8T is awesome, the parts quality is crap IMO. I hope I get to the end of the fragile parts soon or this thing wont be around long for me. I dont care if it is fast as hell. If I dont finish the race its no use to me.
(sorry, just venting... I'm actually very annoyed with the AE quality at the moment if you couldnt tell. One the flip side... I did TQ with it Sunday. Never did that with my XT8)
Yeah jhautz, that about how Cain's day went. I guess it is nice to know it's not anything he did but rather a few weak points that AE needs to address. I hope he gets his figured out because it was insane. Them Nitro boys were doing all they could to keep up with him. i'm hoping to give him a run for the money at the end of the month with my CC 2200kv powered fusion Truggy.
Someone needs to post pics of an MBX6 converted... I'm really curious..
I'm guessing it has the battery where the engine and tank were, with the motor on the other side. Just a guess though Hey Ben!

Thats good to know at least that its not something special here with what I am doing. I guess I know what to order now for sure and I agree about the handling. Last race was the first time I ever broke anything on the RC8, and the RC8T was the first run when it broke.
By the way, what conversion are you running?
If the vehicle though doesn't shape up even with the braces, have no problem going to something else. sometimes you have to stop the bleeding.
Looking forward to seeing your F8T (Fate?) Jason!
