I have been experimenting with trying to keep the mamba cool. i ran this weekend and the temps did not go above 108*.

here is what I did,

I will try to get some pictures up as soon as I can.

I got a chance to see Stealth R/T's EL8 it is comming along very nice. I am really interested to see how his MGM speedo works out.

I did pick up the win this weekend, it was very close. i dropped to a 13tooth pinion and it was a little slower than the fastest guy. i will be ordering a 14 this week.
i will post the results when they are posted.

that heatsink looks cool. get some pics up i want to see how you have the bigger fan connected. that grill guard looks cool too. hopefully that mgm works great im still going to wait for the monster to compare the 2. monster should have no problem as long as it was built like the max it is pretty underrated. i ordered i have a 15 tooth on right now and it has plenty of power im going to try 12-14 once i get them

Does any one use a capacitor on a mamba? I noticed on the RC Calculations web site under the wiring diagram there is a 1000uf capacitor plugged into the reciever.
http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_pi...gif~73~217~~18
What exactly does this do? I thought if it is attached to the esc it helps with the supply of a short term high power demand and I thought when plugged into the reciever it stores power for the reciever and servo if there is a spike demand for the motor.
-Am I way off?
-If so is there any benefit to using one with a mamba, etc.?
-Would it help with the brake issue?
-Why only 1000uf?

Thanks for any info., Dan

are they the same size as the max amps? the el8 kit was designed for those sizes so it works great. so just make sure they are made the same will give you less headache

I think Dan is working on a longer battery tray. You should ask him once you know what size you want to run.

Well, raced my EH-7 saturday for the first time. Ended up putting the 6.5 novak in place of the 4.5. Was still the fastest 8th scale on the track by far.
Had an issue with one of the front outdrives which I didn't get fixed until the main(hard to run a track and wrench much. Ended up in the C main and turned a faster race than the winner of the A main. It did thermal at about the 6:30 mark (we run 10 min mains) the marshall flipped the on off switch and was able to finish. I spent some time today (track's practice day) regearing and cutting some holes in the body for more air. I'm geared at 11-46 now and with the holes and a fan on the motor it looks like it'll do ten minutes. Lost some speed though. I think I'll be looking into the mgm esc and the neu 1512 2.5d. We'll see

Happy i have already spoken with dan about this. HE is making a conversion kit for my jammin x1-cr buggy. I was going to use maxamps 6000's, but i decided to go with the flightpower lipo's, on the recomendations of several knowledgeble people on rc-monster. I have heard very good things about these lipo's.

IR13 no they are longer. Maxamps are 137mm long, the flightpowers are 166mm long.

I was able to run my 6.5 for long mains, geared 12/46. I had a hole in the windshield, a fan on the ESC and a fan/heatsink on the motor.

They are pricey because they are better cells. Good choice.
