I was going to paint my body and I thought...what would be worse for a nitro guy than getting beaten by an electric buggy and it came to me.......getting beaten by a pink electric buggy so here it is!

That sounds like it will work. Let us know how that ESC works out.

In 1985 we raced onroad 1/12th in the Long Beach area, Eustace Moore (MIP) raced there too back then. There was a pink car that just beat the heck out of all of us.

I don't remember her name but she was 9 years old.... talk about feeling absolutely useless.

My condolences for your loss.

That spliced idea has merit, I was thinking about it for my Traxxas Emaxx as it has a sealed receiver box too and to keep plugging and unplugging the wires can't be good over the long term.

nick7736: If you need to absolutely make 20 minutes, a 4S PQ6000XP 25C Pack would work great. RCLipos sells this under the PolyRC Brand and I think RC Monster sells it too under Polyquest. You could also look into a 5S or 6S of some form to get the equivalent W-hr's if I recall correctly as the 6000mah at 14.8 is approximately 88.8 W-hr. Just keep your pack weight around the 4S 6000XP weight. Here is one:

PolyRC 25C PQ4900XP 5S 18.5V 599g pack - 90.65 W-hr

If I recall correctly, this pack is the same cells as used in trakpower 4900mah lipos. Should have same dimensions (I had the 4S pack)

Fabulous: You smoked your ESC. You will need to send it in to Tekin to get it repaired unfortunately. How much do they charge for a non-warranty repair? Let us know what they say. Don't feel too bad, I did something similar with my Castle Creations ESC just recently. Good thing I have a spare sitting here.

Wow, I didn't realize I was going to be getting into the $250-$300 range for just one battery. This conversion may take me awhile. Now that I'm 16 I can finally get a real job!

Gary,
My condolences also. Always tough to loose a loved one.

Thank for the Compliments. The trays are factory made... at the RCPD factory!!

Those two screws go right where they are in the battery box. they are 8-32 X 3/8" and supplied so you don't have to gring off any screws inside the battery box area.
You also put the other two stock motor mount screws in and a 5-40 screw flat head in the middle of the tray with the included 5-40 nylock nut into the small pocket in the middle of the tray.
5 screws total

Voltage x MAH

so for example a 4s 5000mah pack is

14.8v x 5000mah = 74,000mwh or 74wh

'Soon' and 'Losi' don't belong in the same sentence. It took them over a year and a half to finally release the JRXS-R touring car, from when the team drivers (back when they had such a thing) had started running the prototype R cars.

Guys,

I up'ed the gearing from 12T to 16T running the small Medusa 50MM Length 2200KV motor with a fan cooled MM and no BEC. MaxAmps 5000Mh and 10,000Mh 3S packs. In my Yusa test buggy. No real heat issues. Assuming my Oracle data recorder pulled what I think it did I should have a moment to download the temp data later this weekend.

I would definitely say it seemed overall less punchy, however I seemed to be able to clear a triple - most likely just a little higher speed. It will be interesting to look at the RPM data and see if it went down any.

I seemed to be keeping up with a 3.3 Revo pretty well, however to be fair it seemed he was having some tuning problems and sounded like it was running a little rich.

If there was an 1/8th scale stock brushless class I would say the Medusa 50mm length can would be a great option. Fun but not ripping fast and pretty forgiving to drive.

How long did you run racing/bashing and what were temps ?
