I just spent all night (5hrs) cleaning my nitro 8ight, and 2min blowing the dust off my electric 8ight.

The worst thing is that it will look the same after one day at the track.

Is anybody using a Futaba 3PK with the Fasst system. I seem to have a problem with the receiver and using my personal transponder. I am using the Castle BEC and it seems that the receiver shuts down for a split second when I have my transponder plugged in (usually when I go full throttle and then let it coast, the receiver shuts down and then comes back a split second later). Like there isn't enough power to power the receiver and my personal transponder. I know the Castle BEC is set at 5.1v and I think there isn't enough power to power it all. Can I up the voltage on the BEC with the castle link? OR is there another way to get more power to the receiver? Could I use a receiver pack? I know some gas guys here in my area are having problems with their Fasst system and heat in the receiver box with the receiver shutting down, but my receiver is open and not getting hot/heat in it. It seems like a low voltage problem. When I take the transponder out it seems to run fine. I am also using a digital servo. ???

I have the FAAST system and it works good. Try turning up the voltage on your bec. I use the ultimate bec from rc-monster it is set at 6vdc. I run the the monster mamba with the 5vdc bec and it works fine too.
In my nitro car i did have one issue where I lost power near the end of a 30 min race, but it was only one time and I have not had it happen again.

Thumbs up losi spyshot

Looking at the conversions though, you can get a nice ride using some of the nicer conversions out there. The main hodgepodge part IMHO was the electronics. Once Castle starts getting the MMM out again so it works with no issues, you are going to be pretty much golden.

viperbill: I have heard about this on the www.mnnitroseries.com board. With the amount of racing those guys do, I can only imagine how much extra the fuel costs will add to the bottom line.

Who knows, a big spike in fuel price may help push things along for electric conversions. For me, it was the fact that I didn't want to fight with an engine just to have fun, or do wind sprints because I flamed out.

yes, I am fat like that
that spyshot may or not mean anything about a future electric car from losi coming soon ,may turn out to be losi trying a conversion out and see what they think of the electric 1/8 they might be starting to do some research on this type of car and see what they like and dislike about the set-up ,what would they like to change and what can be improved .imo i think some not all will take some time to look at this growing class .i am waiting for roar and others to start looking at a possible rule structure and maybe a regional event to get the ball rolling .

Well, after following this thread for a while and talking to Chewie today, I have finally decided to convert my RC8 to electric. I know I will be going with a MMM/ Neu 1512 2D, but I am stumped as far as batteries go. I know I will be going the 4s route, and i am looking for some inexpensive, yet still quality batteries. Any suggestions??

I've used the same setup at 6V on two vehicles and never had a problem like you mentioned. Bump the voltage and see what you get.

Who Cares???? LOL!!! We have awesome ones RIGHT NOW!!! What are waiting for??? JUMP IN NOW!! Don't wait.

Seriously, Someone said a while back while talking to a factory rep that if could be as long as 2 years for a fully developed Factory 1/8th scale. That doesn't mean they might not come out with something to fill the gap sooner.

If you really know something.... Why don't you share it.
What changed are the making to the car? RTR or you supply the electronics?
No doubt that it will happen... it is just a matter of when. It it does.. then Nitro Chassis will be even cheaper and a conversion will cost even less.

Every Manufacturer has electric 1/8th scales in their development areas.

This same thing happened to me with my CC external BEC and MM using the 3pm fasst system. I installed a Novak Glitch Buster capacitor in ch. 3. The capacitor fixed the problem.

I have disconnected it with the MMM, and haven't had a problem.

HELP!!!!! I just finished putting together an 8ight T with;
- Tekin R1Pro with cap 35V 2200uf
- Tekno Neu 1515 1.5D
- CC Bec set at 6V
- Futaba BLS 351 steering servo
- Futaba R603FS 2.5ghz receiver, Futaba 3PK
- Maxamps 4S 6000
I got everything hooked up, tested the CCbec to center the servo and made sure steering was correct. Then I plugged in the speed control, turned all on but forgot to disconnect the red wire from the R1pro. Smoke!!! Unplugged the battery quick now nothing works. anyone have any idea what I just ruin???? I disconnected the speed control from the receiver. The CCbec powers the receiver but have no steering. Did I just smoked the R1Pro and the CCbec??? Any ideas???
