The numbers on the Mega motor seem limited. It may be a little underpowered for the competitive 1/8th applications including the low rpm/v rating. The motor is rated at 40 amps and a peak of 60 amps. With no losses, that is 880 watts 1320 watts with a 6s pack. With a 4s pack, that is 592 watts and 888 watts peak.

With the high voltage to get any decent rpm out of them and the lower power than others, it is hard to say that these would be competitive for the same money. The higher voltage in the buggys can mean less runtime because you need to make up capacity(runtime) for the high voltage to make any power or rpm.

Maybe Mega motors could have something in the future that makes numbers that work with these specific high power applications like Gary's Truggy.

Next is to get with Mike about some pinions and a heatsink (if think he out of them now)--So does antbody have an extra feiago 540c xl heatsink/clamp that they are willing to part with, also need to find a way to mount 2 packs in a buggy (any suggestions). Thanks for all the great info guys--It's made this project painless!!

Thanks

You are probable going to have to mount them on top of each other or side by side with the batties on their sides. There really isn't room to put a pack on either side but there is plenty of room on the one side for both.

There was an electric Mugen that won the A. He was running a 9xl and a mm with 2 Orion 4800's.
Amazing how that velcro helps uh! I've even had the battery bar come loose and the battery stays put.

So ive been talking brushless 1/8th scales over with my local hobbyshop / track owners & a few others, theve been seeing more and more of them show up to race, and these more comming so the local shops cant turn them down, they need the money, if we keep pushing theres going to have to make some rule changes, id say in 2 years there going to have to change the rules etheir make a full out brushless buggy & truggy class..... or just keep mixxing us with the nitros...... an spank them

Gary: I am really interested in trying this out with a losi 8 or 8t. Can you fill me in on how I convert over or where I need to go to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have a conversion for a Jammin buggy?
Thanks

I've heard that Dan at rcproductdesigns.com is currently working on one. I imagine it'll be available within a month or so.

How have you guys been mounting the esc to the buggies and what kind of fan setups are you using on the motor and esc?

Thanks
Jason

Hi all. Been reading this entire thread for the last several days. All of you have some nice setups, and there seems to be a ton of knowledge here. Thought I would register and post up.

I have an Ofna Hyper 8 pro. Feigao 540c-9l, MM, 4s2p A123. Running 14/46. Pretty fast for my first conversion, and great run times, but now I want more. Much more. Lol! I don't race on a track, just a basher, so more is better. Don't want to kill the run times though. May consider one of the Neu's, but not sure which. I am completely hooked on brushless 1/8 scale. Anyways, just wanted to say hi.
