I have the 3200kv (1512 1.5 d/f....geared 10/46) motor and honestly wish I would have gone with the 2d or possibly 2.5d. This is soley because I run on a smaller track 90% of the time. This is why you have heard me say my motor, or the 1.5d is simply too much. So yeh.....it all depends on who you are talking to or thier conditions. Some on a big track, letting it breath, may love the 1.5d. I have tried it on a bigger track and it puts a smile on my face when I open 'er up It's a friggin rocket!! But for racing, I kinda wish I had a 2.5d 2000kv.

I definitley get over 20 min with my 4S 6000 MAmps.

I have looked at the NEU website but no luck. I am in the process of searching through the RC-Monster website but I thought I would ask on here. I am looking for the same type of data for the 1509 series motors.

Thanks in advance.

The data is extracted from Neu's distributor's web page.

Thanks for that.

So the other chart is just a couple mathmatical calculations away then (man I must have been out of it last night...).

So moving on, if I were to run a 1509 on 3s (and set the Mamba to not over rev it) I should see 2220 Watts or 2.98 HP.....WOW

Maybe the 1509 1.5d might be better then I don't have to worry about the over-rev and the specs should work out like this 1498 Watts or 2.01 HP on 3s. Of course the above numbers assume 100% eff which is not likely....

Hmmmm

Thanks for all the help guys.

So the website lists eff. specs for the motors too so the real world numbers should look like this.

1509 1D on 3s 1909.2 Watts or 2.56 HP Top RPM 60,000 (need to limit RPM in ESC)
1509 1.5 D on 3s 1288.7 Watts or 1.723 HP Top RPM 49,950

1512 1.5D on 4s 1698.3 Watts or 2.28 HP Top RPM 47,360
1512 2D on 4s 1591.0 Watts or 2.13 HP Top RPM 38,480
1512 2.5D on 4s 992.78 Watts or 1.33 HP Top RPM 29,600

Seems the biggest issue with the 1509 1D might be gearing the car. However,

An Xray geared 10/46 (4.6 -1 Ratio) with a 1512 1.5D would hit about 39.05 MPH on 4s

The 1509 1D would need geared 9/52 (5.78 -1 Ratio) to hit 39.39 MPH on 3s

I think a previous post indicated a 9 tooth MOD 1 pinion can be had. It would seem to me that all that extra ratio moving the same weight (actually lighter) car would work out well.

MPH Formula

Motor RPM / Final drive ratio * Tire Circumference (in inches) / 12 / 88 = MPH

So in my example:
1509 1D on 3s reving 60,000RPM

60,000/19.24 * 13.352/12/88 = 39.43 (Must have used a slightly different number for the tire circumference to get 39.39MPH)

Final drive ratio is Primary Ratio (spur/pinion) * Internal ratio (Gearbox)

So for the Xray that would be 52/9 * 3.33 = 19.24 to 1

Make sense?

Chris

Also, these calculations are based on a tire 4.25" in diameter. No tire growth was figured in the equations.

Hey guys I haven’t posted in a while been working like crazy and racing 10th scale. I just took a quick test run with my RC8e, I have an idea and I am wondering if any of you guys have though to doing this...... I am considering taking out the center diff, simply making the drive train more like a 10th scale 4wd. I am thinking that I would get better efficiency because I would be putting more of the power to the ground instead of blowing the front tires off the wheels. Have any of you tried this ?? What were your results???

Can someone help me out on a Revo and a Losi 8ight brushless Li-Po electric conversion? I have already found the motor mounts I need at http://www.rc-monster.com/ Also a charger... MRC Super Brain 989. However, I am completely lost when it comes to choosing the motors and speed controls. I am wanting these for racing so they need to be faster thand stock and also need to handle 30-45 minutes of runtime. Please help me!

Well then you will have a wheely master, it will make the car very uncontrolable. In my opinion there is just as much of a need for a center diff in a electic buggy than a nitro buggy, its not like a center diff is a nitro specific piece, it is there for handling, I realy dont know everything that it helps with, I just know that it will help my electric buggy just as much as anyones nitro buggy. But that is just my opinion.
