Lighteneing cars belive is a good thing for nitro if you need it. But electric I am on the fence, as of now I will run my new E car stock and the only way I will lighten it up a bit is if I have maybe heat issues? If the system is getting hot but you lighten the car a few oz this can help correct? I am not to educated on the e 1/8 stuff yet but I will get it. I wouldnt mind running a LW chassis at least on both.

You have to cut a little off the rear of the esc mount, and drill a hole for the front mount. You also have to cut the inside middle strap mount off because it hits the spur.
LOSI 8T 1.0, Tekin RX8 2050, running 4S 5000, gears 48/15 direct drive
My temps are all good, I only mad it 11.05 today before my VC stopped me from finishing a 15 min race. One of the other E guys at my track said I am pulling to many amps and its killing my runtimes. recommended I went up to a 50T spur.
What do you guys think I should do. ANY HELP PLEASE

If that is 11 min and 5 sec, that could be about right. It depends on the size, type of track, how hard you stay on the throttle. Buggies sometimes can only get around 15 minutes with a similar setup. That is why roar is only looking at a 10 minute run. The truggies are heavier and requires more battery capacity. You could drop a tooth or 2 on the pinion, going to 50 on the spur wouldn't do anything worth trying. With that ratio, you are about 5 tooth on the spur for every tooth on the pinion.
Don't drop your VC. You could hurt the battery. A 5s 5000 should get you there. I run a 5s 4800 on the castle 2200 on the 2.0 and turn down the epa and easily do 15 minutes. It is very fast and very controllable on a large track.
Have Fun.

I run with a few other guys at the track and they are all able to finish out races. We run with nitros and the mains are 20 min long. A buggy and 3 MT I know for sure can finish the 20 min mains. And I am very smooth on the trigger. Its a large open track with med traction. There is probably 3 spots on the track I can open it up Full Throttle. And thats only for a sec or 2.
My Lipos are the green Venom 5000 2S and I am running them in series.
After that race yesterday this is what I put back in them.
pack1 4737
pack2 4626
Would I be better just getting a 4 cell pack as opposed to running the 2 2s setups. I am looking at the SMC 9000 packs to get the runtime I need.

You are going to be hard pressed to make 20 minutes with that setup. Ask the other guys what setups they are running. Typically you will need at least a 5s setup with a lower kv motor to run 20 minutes reliably.
Well i got bored at work last night and bought a tekin rx8 with he 1550 truggy motor and a motor mount so i may have to find some time to go practice next week
Is anyone here running the Ofna Hyper 9e? I did some searches the other day on the forum and in this thread, but didn't find anyone using this car. There's some info on RC Monster, but not much. I really like the layout of the Hyper 9e and I'm thinking of picking one up and making my Losi 8e 1.0 a back-up or play car.

There are a few users who have the Hyper 9E and like it from what I understand. I have it, and my initial impressions for the limited usage I have unfortunately gotten to do with it (mainly corning testing, etc) compared to my other vehicles I have is that it feels like it changes directions faster than my RC8 and MBX5 did, and the RC8 was very good at that. The Big bore shocks also give it a very plush ride.
The main thing I would make sure and do is the Hyper 8.5 upper a-arm mod till the new lower arms are released, and also get the Answer-RC rear toe-in plate. Make sure and email them about getting a discount, I got mine for significantly less than what its advertised at.
As for gearing, go with mild KV motors since some of those that are fatter around could cause gearing issues. I am going to be trying the speedpassion system as the vehicle looks like it was almost designed for it based on the motor heatsink they include that bolts to the chassis with the Hyper 9E.
Last thing, they use red threadlock EVERYWHERE. I had to send in part of my vehicle as the screw was partially stripped from the factory and I couldn't get it out due to the red threadlock. ( I take all my vehicles appart first).
All and all, for a single pack setup, I think this is probably one of the best layouts out there since it really gets the weight centered on the car.

Thanks for the info Cain. I'm looking forward to some race reports on the car.
I looked at arm options on amain and they list 2 for the 8.5/8.0.
One looks a like the stock 9.0 arm (part ofn27008)
and the other looks very tough (part ofn28007).

the second pic looks like the Hyper 8.5 upper a-arms. Nitrohouse says specifically what they are for when you search for them (can't get into the site right now to confirm for you).
I actually found some of the 8.5 a-arms pulled from an 8.5 kit really cheap on ebay. like $5 shipped with the center turnbuckle too, though I use the Hyper 9E stuff. You need to trim the arm very little for it to fit. There are pics of this out there. If you mess up a bit, just shim out the slop. works well as far as fit goes, and then are supposed to be more durable than the stuck uppers which help strengthen the lowers.
