If someone wins main 1 and 2, they will have the win guaranteed if it is best 2 out of 3, and it will probably be up to them to run the third round, or sit it out and let everyone battle for overall second place.

Some like the triple mains, some don't. It does help reduce the impact of breaking, or a bad start, etc as it would have to happen multiple times to eliminate someone from contention. Of course, if it is not best 2 out of 3, one bad round will still kill ya!

10 minute races also take out the whole issue of run time and battery selection... and what to do about pitting, changing batteries vs. huge heavy packs, etc. I run a 4s 4200 setup.. it's light and works great. I might be trying a 6s 3000 setup again soon... with a little 1300kv motor

Here is my latest project, E-MBX6T

Like the E-MP9 I have flipped the diff for a front motor setup, and I also centered the driveline. You will notice that I squeezed everything towards the center for the best balance possible, now there's no uneven weights on the outside like most electric setups.

Absolutely true. I was just pointing out the general application of the triple A mains.

It will be interesting to see where people settle in terms of pack size if the 10min triple A main becomes the norm. Instead of capacity being the key factor to make the longer run times, it will be current handling of smaller, lighter packs that can holdup to the current draw for 10 minutes. A lightweight pack with one of the smaller systems could be a pretty sweet combo on the track. Still plenty of power, but nimble and jump like a gazelle! I could be well under 7lbs with a setup like in my 808. Hhmmmmmm....where's my credit card!

I can easily get under 7lbs with a 5s 3300mah pack setup and make 10 minutes run time in my 808. I was at 7.2lbs with the 5s 4300mah. This might sound crazy... but I actually like the way my car handles with a bigger/heavier pack in it. It just settles it down a bit. When its too light it gets tossed around to much in the rough stuff and it just seems to get better acceleration traction in general when its a little heavier. I'm sure it could be my setup, but so far I am liking the weight a little over 7.25lbs rather than sub 7lbs.

Not crazy... All of us Tekno guys are seeing the same results. We actually prefer to run our heavier packs, as it just feels more stable and easier to drive fast without getting tossed around, like you said.

It's kinda sad when some guys go to great lengths to lighten up their cars... End result is not going to satisfy.

I tell you what sucks!

I got a brushless setup for this season and with all the forum talk at my local track. Only 3 guys have a ebuggy. All the talk about it being a good class. It turns out to be small. Now I am going to have to take out my brushless system and run nitro again.
I was wanting to run both classes but I don't want to buy another buggy just to run with 3 guys. Not sure if it is worth spending 6 or 700 dollars to have 2 class racing.

I am guessing that your track/club is not open to the idea of running the two together? We run nitro and electric together with a mandatory "fake" pitstop for the electrics and it works out pretty good.

Get them to run the classes together. After you beat the nitro guys a few times, they'll start switching. Just this weekend I overheard two more hardcore nitro guys talk about switching. It won't happen all at once but, it should happen.

What kit did you get??? With the RCPD design it is only a few screws and you can switch back and forth.

Here's my newly converted MBX6. It's still a little bit dirty from racing yesterday. I used a losi battery tray and rc-monster motor mount.
