I appreciate all the kind words from those of you have been involved with 1/8th electric since, well, since Ben Franklin went kite flying

I have some tweaks to add - the bolt down battery strap was a 4am Sunday morning quick solution - I need to machine up posts for body clips - and then there is the matter of getting a decent body pulled. The car has virtually perfect left right balance with the two 2S hardpacks, so I have some plates to weigh and add under the lighter 5S lipos, to keep the balance the same. And I'm sure little problems will crop up. I do think the chassis will turn out to be too stiff on a blown out track, so the top spine will need some changes for those conditions. The car now is definately more rigid than my nitro D8 with its 4mm chassis now, even though the E car is only 3mm. I have some ideas to try there. And now that I am smarter on how to create a vacuum from my body forming reading, the idea of a layed up composite chassis seems fascinating. So much to learn and try, and so little time...

Again - thanks for the kind words!

Hyper 8.5 universals. I haven't had too many issues with the stockers - my nitro car is an early one, and I had a few bad ones - but I built the E car from parts, and I had quite a few sets of Hyper unis I wasn't using, and I knew they worked well. If I had extra stockers I would have run them - with CVD Condoms, of course

I just finished this truggy. I bought every thing from members of this site. Cost me $438 to build. I allready had the Hitec servo and batteries. I want to start racing it on Saterdays at Revelation Raceway.

Running 14/48(metal spur with wahers under the center diff mounts) and this thing is insane with the 2100 motor. Going to gear it down to 11 and see if its a bit more manageable. I had never seen a truggy wheelie before I pulled the trigger for the first time.

I ran it for 8 minutes yesterday and put a bit over 2000 MAH back on the lipos charging them as a 4S with the series connector. I love these Reeady LiPos. They are pretty well matched too. One has 4.19v/4.21v and the other one has 4.22v/4.21v. I also have a pair of MaxAmps 6000MAH lipos but they dont seem to have the punch that the Reedy ones do.

The motor gets up to 140* running it in my front yard on grass, dirt jumping it off a skate ramp.

I would greatly appreciate any imput as this is my first truggy.

looks pretty good man, one thing id to get some heat shrink or buy these things called cvd condems, they keep the little pin in your driveshaft if the set screw loosens up, which it will over time, trust me.

Thanks for reminding me Greg! I had that issue with my 8ight-B and got the condoms(plastic tube caps) and even that didnt hold the rear pin from popping out once.

I have some heat shrink that I will use on this one. I'll double it up and see how that goes.

I noticed that the front of the buggy doesnt sit level. The arms "V" a little bit. The springs are preloaded all the way down, too. Should I got up to the next color springs? It handles good but dam near hits the ground when I break.

i use about 4 layers and it does the trick. as for the springs you could just take em off and pull em, they get bunched up after a while pulling them apart a little helps sometimes, or if ya have the next level up try em

Before you get carried away stretching your springs and ruining them. Take a good look at those a-arms you said V a little bit. Losi arms warp after a while. Especially if the owner stores the car sitting on the tires. I set mine on a stand always. They will warp sitting on the tires and get the results you've described.

Thanks. I just checked that and they are straight as an arrow. I allways set mine cars on a stand because the tired get a flat spot on them.

I dont think I'll be pulling on the srpings though. I'm just going to ging to get one color up. I dont know what oil the roller came with in the shocks eather so I think I might just empty and refill them. I was so excited about getting the truggy running that I might of over looked some things.

Your suspension and steering turnbuckles are probably binding then.

I agree. Take the shocks off and make sure everything moves freely in the suspension. Sounds like something is binding somewhere.

Nothing seems to be binding. When I pick the front end up I get full droop. Its just that it seems like the fornt end is too heavy, and is making the front end squat a bit too much.

Thanks for trying to help, by the way.
