whats the difference between quad magnets and 2 magnets?
I am currenly running in stock but have started racing modified and my mod motor is about 5 years old.
iv been looking around and have found that the reedy motors have four magnets instead of two whats the difference in perfomance?

I asked this question to the Reedy guys about which motor will make more power overall, even though they later with back to a two mag setup, the quad mags they said made more power overall. Have to find the email about this. Big Jim also said that too. If I recall, he also shown designs of a motor that had six mags or something like that he was working on.

I'm from the Slot car scene, Raced them for 15 years and in the open motors they had 10 magnets. The more magnets the more magnetic strength, the more power and more brakes.
But most motors in the RC game just have 2 magnets.

More magnets = more arcing = more comm wear.
And it's exponential, not twice as much wear/maintenance, more like four times as much. I ran a 12x2 Kr for a while, only got two runs before it needed to be cut, switched to the 12x2 Ti worlds, got about eight runs between cuts. The Kr did make more top end power but the motors were pretty close in low end and midrange. From what I understand, that's the reason Reedy switched back to two magnets.
