Default Hara Twister 2.1 has burnt out my motor

Hi All,

I recently aquired the twister 2.1 esc and put it in my stock Losi XX Kinwald buggy. This worked great with the stock 540 motor, the motor however would get pretty hot (couldn't touch it after two 3300mAh runs). I recently installed a 20T double with higher ratio gearing, after about 5 minutes on a 3700mAh the motor became unresponsive and then produced smoke. It was so hot I could not touch it for about 1 hour. I expect the motor is toast, question is, what can I do to prevent this happening again????

Anybody have this esc and have a similar problem?

Thanks

ATB

I doubt the speedo had anything to do with it. It sounds like the higher gearing coupled with the extended runtime and extra power of the 3700 killed the motor.

Remove the pinion and check for binding in the drivetrain as well.

Were you on a race track? Racing? Most stock motors will be very hot after more than a 5 min run. Especially with an over geared motor.
