I don't do anything special for charging, although I do have a heavy insulated metal safe box and some fiberglass mat stuff like the 'liposac' thing... but I don't use them. Maybe I should use them more. I don't think many guys do any of that.

I do make VERY certain that I'm charging at the right settings... amps and volts. I use the ICE charger and have a profile set for each pack.

Yes the car can keep up with the fast nitros... and if it doesn't... all I have to do is gear up a tooth.

I also just picked up a truggy and put a .21 in it so I can join the nitro fraternity also... but so far I have not had anyone try to stop me from racing hte electric. But they want me to do fake pit stops to make it fair.

Now if we could get all the tracks to allow lipos in mod 1/10 4wd....

Glassdoctor, nice work!

Any idea if the cnc mounts you'll be ordering may fit the losi 8 truggy? I'm going to do the conversion... I guess the best mount would be the one that eliminates any chassis flex happening between the pinion and spur. I think I've seen some mounts made by scyan in another forum, they look good...

this will be a bit of a long project for me... hopefully by the time its ready for the electronics the mamba monster max will be out...

I haven't tried the fit in the truck but it looks like they should work just fine, yes. I will look into it... make sure it works.

no brushless yet, but this is my lipo-ized XXX-4 G+

I used a custom cfk board to tack the lipo onto:

It uses a vibration-resistant mount with silicone tubing and M3 flanged locknuts

with body on:

Finally, an XXX-4 that got it's left to right balance right!

I bought it for about 70 Euros (90US$ i guess)
But prices here in Austria are generally on the high side.

Here's my X-5 with a Sphere Comp, NEO 3 Star brushless and Maxxamps 4400 mAh LiPo saddle packs. Just got the lipo in it today and took it out to the track. It was just stupid fast compared to the sub-c 3800's I was running last year. My first big race of the season is next weekend, 20 4mods signed up, it's going to be fun!!!

What kind of runtime can you get with 4400's and your brushless? 20 - 30 minute mains possible with that?

I ran it for 15 minutes today and it still had juice left. I'm going to recharge and see how many mAh it takes.

Handles GREAT, the only time I'm running with 1/8 scale buggies is durring open practice at large 2 day races. Then I'm only trying to get track time and not get squashed in the process, LOL.

Cool, can't wait to get mine. I haven't ever driven a 4wd electric, but I did own a ofna buggy 1/8 nitro. Should be pretty fun.

1/10 scale 4wd buggy is really a fun class. Extremely fast too. Don't be suprised you can put down faster lap times than your 1/8 scale.
