Hey Paul, I am about to make an order for the race in Savannah weekend of 12 Jan. What insert for 2wd buggy is used for an abrasive, hard packed track?

It really comes down to track conditions on race day. If it's high-bite and abrasive, then I would go with the blue profiled insert 3206-3. I would run stock foam for most other conditions.

Default Mono wheels and cleaning

PW,

Does JC plan on making the Mono wheels with a gloss finish in the future? The mat finish makes it hard to keep the wheel looking clean.

Also, what is the best cleaner to use when getting a tire read for glue? I see a lot of the pros use windex, but I was wondering if Simple green was a good idea?

Thanks again for all of the great products and unmatched customer service!

John

It's in discussion, but nothing decided yet.

Most everyone is using Windex. Simple green actually works very well, but it's important to let the tire dry before mounting and gluing.

Can the Barcodes Gold (indoor clay) be a useful tire on another surface?

My indoor track closed and not another one anywhere around. I've got 3 sets (front & rear) and wondering if I should sell them or use them for some other track surface.

The worlds tire is called the Metrix and will come out, but it won't be until early 2013.

Not normally; but recently we have been running golds on grooved, hard packed outdoor tracks during the cooler months; this doesn't happen very often though.
