I want a J82 in the worst way!

Maybe after the RC8e is done?

The J82 looks awesome, and if I can convince the people in mod truck to let me run it, I just might try it.

But to J concepts and the team, I would really like some hard plastic wings for the b4 and b44. They don't need to be as thick as 8th scale wings, but at least more durable than these lexan wings. For me they would be great, I have to add weight anyways to account for lipo battery being lighter, and since I run on loose conditions having the weight at the top of the car and at the rear will only help the car roll better instead of sliding.

Question for you all:

I have just purchased a good condition BJ4WE. Does anyone know if the front and rear universals from the Associated B44 will work on the BJ4WE as replacement universals?

thanks.....

I would assume that they would, however you will need the whole thing (dogbone + axle) as the b44's are cva, and the bj4 is cvd. But the lengths should be the same.

The molded wing is a good idea, in fact Yokomo had them about 12-15 years ago or so. The problem was to get the weight close, they were tweaking like lexan does, make them thicker, then they were far to heavy. Considering they would be mounted at the highest point on the car it is more critical that they aren't too heavy. Alot of racers complained about the handling changes.

They never took off and eventually were discontinued.

The J82 is awesome, btw! I have one, !

When will Jconcepts offer plastic wings for 1/10th scale 4wd cars like the 1/8th scale cars have?

Like a plastic version of the B44 wing would be awesome..

Weight is not a issue, I already have to add weight going with Lipo

overall weight may not be an issue, but i'd bet overall balance would be... hard plastic wing on 1/10th scale would have you popping wheelies off the line, and doing backflips over jumps.

I would like to see Jconcepts make hard wings in 1/10th scale too..

if everything is in scale and in same geometry (ie similar to your standard 6", 6.5" 7" etc... i dont see how this will effect balance?

Just wanted to say I have the J82 and it is a blast. I love buggy but running the b4 on a track that 8th scales have beat up is just not a lot of fun. This gives me a buggy fix and solve the sailplane fun of a t4 off big jumps. Just a good product and hopefully more to come from you guys.

Like Jim already said, it will raise the CG since they are heavier and mounted at the highest point of the car. This was already tried in the early '90s and it sucked, car had major body roll. You would then need to go up on rear spring to control it and then you would lose some forward bite.
