Cool. Your car was good. I hope everything goes well and if it does I will be racing with another new setup to try but this time for slicks. I have the new stuff I need on order. Jim got my other stuff in today so I need to make a trip down Friday to get my parts.

Just to let you guys know I got this problem solved, I tried sevaral different gearing setups and went back to the 81 tooth spur and 20 tooth pinion and mounted a small novak fan above the motor and went from 200 degrees to about 145 degrees so the fan did wonders.

Default Fan

Could you share a pic of how you mounted the fan. I have the new four gear and it has two "mystery" holes in the plate that I understand will be for a fan mount. I thought maybe your set up might help to see how it might work. Thanks.

What I did was use a thin piece of aluminum and bent and cut it until I got what I wanted, I also drilled and taped one new hole in the motor plate, I hope you can see what I did by the pictures.

Thanks for the excellent pics. This gives me food for thought for what I want to do. I am new to the X Factory family and appreciate the help.

Default Good News

Glad to hear you like the car. I am running the 4 gear tranny, new conversion kit, and Losi shocks front and rear. I used Paul's setup for the 4 gear and am anxious to try it out.

he was at my track this weekend, I took some good shots of his cars, I'll post them up tonight.

He won 2w and 4w mod classes. It was really fun to watch him race and pick his brain about setups and stuff...really nice guy!

Not only was he fast and a great person to talk to about rc or anything else, he had the cleanest looking cars I have ever seen. The modifications and custom work pretty incredible and definitely thinking outside the box.

Cant wait to see the pics!

GRRRRRR!!! I had like 50 pictures of BK's X6 and I can only open 5 of them DAMMIT! I can't for the life of me get the rest of them to open up...(insert choice word here) Futher Mucker!

Anyway, here's the 5 I could open...

to describe it in words:

-Xray captured ball ends throughout
-One-Off Carbon Fiber Front/Rear Shock towers
-One-Off Carbon Fiber Motor Plate
-One-Off Carbon Fiber Battery Strap
-Lunsford quick change shock mounts used as battery strap mounting posts
-Losi CR rear hubs
-Xray TC 64 Pitch gears
-Chassis has a hole milled in the side that the very tip of the on/off switch pokes out through so you just barely lift up the body and the switch is right there on the side of the chassis
-Orion 3200 Lipo mounted sideways in chassis and never comes out...ever
-Battery slots in bottom of chassis are filled with solder...yes solder, he found that solder weighs more than lead so he is dripped solder into an extra chassis as a mold and uses those as chassis weights.
-All tierods, shocks, drivelines were basically shorted out in some fancy anodizing method that turned all those parts to a gunmetal color
-Capacitors, wires, OnOff switch, PT, all blacked out with black rubber shrink wrap

That's all I can remember off the top of my head, his pit was by far the cleanest I've ever seen and remained the cleanest throughout the week.
