would love to go but it's a long way from the UK

Just had our 1st North East outdoor regional @ NERCR on Sunday gone. Team Driver Dan Greenwood finished 2nd in the A from 4th on the grid. I made 9th in the B from 8th on the grid. In all maybe 8 to 10 X-6 cars running. Don't know how the others did.

This is a pic of the area we race on @ the weekend

Good luck at the Losi race guys! Wish I could go, but I'll be at JBRL 2 in Bakersfield. See if I can keep in front of a couple of new Kyoshos

Default 4x2 vs 3x3 battery configuration?

I posted this in the 2wdrc.com website for XFactory but wasnt sure if this forum gets a different group of readers.

What are the advantages of using a 4x2 vs 3x3 configuration on the X6? Does the X6 need more rear weight since its now midmotor?

Do you generally want a 50/50 weight distribution on the chassis at the centerline (i.e. the center of gravity exactly in the middle of the car)?

Yes, it is better to the have 4x2 weight setup for a few reasons. One is a bit more weight in the rear. Another is to have room to mount electronics. And not to mention the X-5 already uses the 4x2 packs. Makes things easy.

A 50/50 weight distribution would not work to well with a 2wd car. The rear wheels have an immense amount of load on them when accelerating, and this would not be ideal for proper handling.

I just recently switched from using the 4X2 packs to a lipo pack. I just lightened the spring rates and the car in my opinion reacts quicker and handles better.

Raced our first points race this weekend. I just missed tq by.2 seconds. In the main, the tq guy had a brush hang and was out. I got out to a 1 lap lead, then had my pack die. I ended up winning by a few seconds. It is amazing how noticeably faster I am in the corners and have better forward bite.

I do have one question about my pack. I was coming down to the last turn of the race (we run 7 minute mains) and my car suddenly died. It had no energy left, and gave no warning. I had a fresh peak on it at the beginning of the race and none of my other packs have given me a problem. I am geared conservatively so I am certain that the only thing that is left is a problem with my cells. Has this happened to anyone else? I charged them up when I got home and the pack peaked at approximately 1000mah short. So either it had some energy left or there is some kind of damage and they lost capacity. What is the best way to test each cell?

I had a really rough weekend, to say the least. I qualified 7th in buggy, and broke in 2 of the A-mains finishing 9th overall. In 4wd, I qualified 4th, and like wise broke twice, and got a fifth for a 7th overall. I had a rough, rough day. My cars were fast too, just a bad day. Shake it off and go on to the next one!

Darn it Frank, have you been learning from Alex again?
Bummer on the bad luck. We had a little of that too this weekend.

Went to JBRL#2 in Bakersfield this weekend with my borrowed X-6 ( with Losi shocks, slipper and spindles). Tq'd Exp Stock, qualified 2nd in 19T and won both mains. High traction, swept bluegroove, with chunks (holes) missing in some of the corners! Car was working really good.
