ICE CHARGER SETTINGS FOR M11 TRANSMITTER WITH 2400'S
PLEASE,ANYONE? I had recently bought 16 2400's rechargebles for my m11 and dx3 and had my LHS owner set the settings on my ice but cant get the right settings because everytime try to charge them it starts beeping like crazy and says something like"voltage output is greater than ...." so we gave up and just lookin if someone can please help. i really dont want to eat $50.just give me settings right down the list .

Make sure it is set on 8 cell. Also being neww batts, Might take a few trys to get them started.

it is on 8 cell. like how many tries? we did probably like 7 or 8 tries.

Put in on 9, and let it charge for a few min, then change it back to 8. I have had to do that before w/ a new pack to get it started. You wont hurt anything w/ that charger.

scotty555- yeah i could try that. didnt try that yet. do you think it will charge all the batteries? im gonna try anyways.

turtleman=so you had the same problem? do you have the ice still? and still charge the tx? if yes next time you got it out can you just give me all the settings you have on page on ice.

Set it 1 amp * 2400 mah * 8 cell * 5mv cut off.

I had the SAME problem with my ICE ... and the store changed it under warranty, after that 6 months of problem-free hard use ... great charger ...

Is it going over 20 volts? You'd have to watch the screen to tell. If it is going over (16 volts with 8 cells) then it will kick off because of high voltage also. If this is the case then look into bad connections/leads/cell/open circuit.

You need to actually learn more about batteries! It is more useful to learn what C to charge at for that battery type than for someone to give you an amperage setting. Here is what you need to know when playing with this kind of a charger.
C= battery capacity for the battery your are trying to charge.
NiMh is safe to charge up to 1.5 C
NiCD is safe to charge up to 2C
set cutoff at 5mV for NiMh and 10mV for NiCD
To find out what to charge your 2400 battery at first you need to know what battery type it is. A 2400 in a AA cell is a NiMH. Then you take 2400x1.5 and get 3.6 amps. THIS IS THE MAXIMUM CHARGE RATE FOR THIS BATTERY! I usually charge at 1C for my batteries (longer life) so the charge rate I would use would be 2.4 amps. Make sure to use a C/10 rate when forming batteries for the first time. For the first charge they should be charged at this rate for 14 to 16 hours. This is a good overnight rate too. Trickle is an indefinate charge. It is C/100. So using the above info here is what we get for the 2400 AA NiMh batteries you are using.
Fast or Peak Charge- 2.4 amps
c/10 charge- 240 mah
Trickle- 24 mah
Battery Cell count does not change any of the above info. Just make sure the cell count is right on the charger. Also, when charging batteries for the first time the voltage of the cells might be to low and trip the chargers safety circuitry. If this is the case lower the cell count by one for a minute or two to get the cell voltage up. Then charge at the right voltage. Hope this helped.

It sounds like your power supply gives out a too low voltage, i had the same problem with some chargers and charging 8-cell packs. I Adjusted the voltage in the supply up to around 14 V and it works like a charm.
