good battery for 4wd buggy? runnign with brushless

i am plannign on running the mamba 6900 motor in my DI. if i build a battery i could make it fit 7 cells. where can i find a 7 cell hump pack? or where can i find a long lasting strong 6 cell 4200 pack? what are some choices for batteries?

team orion worlds or factory team packs are a good safe bet. some guys i know like smc also. depends on what is at your track shop or lhs. team birdman also carries good quailty 4200's as well. you won't find a 7 cell set-up unless you make one from two six cell sets. so if you run 1/12 on road and nitro you'll be good one 7 pack, one 4 pack, and one cell for your glow ignitor.

Look at Promatch for good deals on batteries. The IB 4200WC packs are awesome. I would stay with 6 cell packs.

well a 7 cell will last lnger and have more power... i probly will just stay with 6 cells. but right now im running orion super duty plus 3000's and only get 10 minutes or so out of them. i want more power and more run time.

were can i find promatch?

AzBobby 02-06-2007 05:52 PM

promatch.com and yes they are very good. if you can get them at your track or willing to order online there are very good. i miss their electric motors by the way. 7 cells will give you more punch but not more power or run time. if your looking there you need to go lipo and the orion advantage charger that does nimh and lipo. its an awesome charger especially for nimh cells. the step charge feature for 3300,3600,3700,4200,4300's is AMAZING. once you get the settings right along with my novak smart tray, man my batts rule. but you need to start with a top quality cell, from the previous mentioned batt. companies. ten minutes is very typical of a racing pack charged for racing on a brushed or brushless motor. maybe you get a bit more on a brushless but not much.

i went to promatch.com and it pulled up a dating site...... haha. well i am abotu to get a 6900 mamba system and only have enough for one battery. somethign under like $50 would be great but i dont think i can get that.

nope a good team orion pack is 65 and the other co. are about the same. plus i thought pro-match was kinda out of it, but i didn't know for sure. i haven't seen their batts for two years and their motors for four years. if your on the west coast side of the usa. team birdman is very good and he travels alot to all venues and to all races to support his company. Dennis is very nice and extremely knowledgable. teambirdman.com
