Default I'm thinking of buying a Jammin... what happens when they stop making this car??

once the car gets replaced with a new model, will i still be able to buy parts for it? Are all Ofna parts for 1/8 buggies interchangable???

I don't want to have to get a new car in 6 months or something.

There will still be parts for it if they release a new car. And NO not all Ofna parts are interchangeable

I doubt the Jammin is going away anytime soon. The latest version (FTE) just barely came out a year ago and Hong Nor (the manufacturer) keeps releasing new parts and hop-ups all the time, so they definately still see it as a viable platform. Even when it does go away you'll still be able to get parts for it for a long time afterward, so there's really nothing to worry about.

yeah, if you get a jammin now and they stop making the car and stop producing the parts for it, it should probably be time to just get a whole new kit anyways.

That's the latest version in RTR form. If you can afford a pro kit right off the bat it will save you money in the long run. If not, no worries, you'll get plenty of fun out of that one and can buy upgrades for it as you see fit.

Different LHS's carry parts for different buggies so the only way to know for sure is to call.

The Jammin has been out for about 2.5-3 years now I think. I bought mine about 2 years ago, and the buggy was only out for mabye 6-8 before that. I would expect they are probably working on a new buggy platform now. This is total guess but I'll bet that there will be a new Jammin car for the 2008 season. So buying a Jammin now wouldn't be such a bad move, but don't expect the platform to be around for another 3 years.

When you call them, why not ask if they will get the car for you also, adn for how much $$$? If they are way out of line on price, don't be afraid to say you were about to order it from Tower. Is it worth it to use a Tower coupon and save like $10 after shipping?

My LHS is great about pricing kits... cheaper than Tower.

Its $445 + 8 dollar shipping on tower, no tax.

so it'd have to be about $410 at my LHS for it to be about the same

So you must be looking at the non-FTE eddition, for that price? The FTE has the better shocks(which alone is worth the price difference),better brakes, etc.Something to think about. Not much $$$ difference in getting the better kit to start with.Either way...Jammin's are good buggies.I like mine.
