Default NOOB

HI I have been racing electric 1/10 for about 1 year and i was happy with it.

Untill i got a go of my friends nitro now i want it..

I live in Australia so nitro is pretty expensive, and i am only 13 so i don't have verry deep pockets. I am think about getting (Kyosho Inferno Mp 7.5 Sports) Like $479 from tower.

1.Do u think it is good choice i want to race and bash around as i have a track in my bak yard.

2. I know tower is expensive but i dont know any others who ship to Australia.

THanx in adance

Androxy,

I am a big mp-7.5 fan but for what you will do with the car I would highly recomend a Ofna Hyper 7 pbs rtr car with the starter box. It is under $500 and you can get them even cheaper out of Japan.

Androxy, Where in Australia are you?? I to hail from downunder, (Newcastle) & I have benn in 1/8th buggies for about 2 years. In my experience the Onfa's are fast cars but they are no where near as strong as Mugen or Kyosho. Plus parts for Onfa are a bit hard to get in Aust. All the new guys we get at our tracks with them either leave because of the hassles they have or they go out & buy Mugen/Kyosho. Also if you go to the Aust part of this forum there is a tread reguarding buying from oversea's & it is much better for us to buy from Hong Kong. There are a heap of shops mensioned in that tread for you to look at. Also check out www.nitrobuggies.com a web site on 1/8th nitro offroad only. If you have any questions just PM me

Talking Thanx (lineburner)

Thanx alot, I will check out those websites.

I live in Brisbane, the prices of cars in hobby shops up here is horrendous ( soz about spelling)..

By the way do u mix ur own fuel, that s what my friend does and he says it costs, $2.50 - $3.50 per litre instead of $14 from my hobby shop.

Can u shed any light on this topic.

Thanx ALOT

ANDY

Yes, I do mix my own fuel. Fuel mix consists of: 10% Coolpower oil, 20-25% Nitro, 65-70% methynol. As costs go, I pay $85Aust for 5litres of Nitro; $27.50Aust for 25litres of methynol and $35Aust for 5litres of coolpower oil. So, for $147.50 I can make 33.5litres of 20% buggy fuel. 4litres of trinity monster horsepower 20% nitro fuel at my local hobby shop retails for $80Aust - so for 33litres of monster horsepower it would cost me $670Aust. I suggest if you can mix your own fuel - do so, if not maybe your friend could do you a deal. The Qld state title are on in Rockhampton on the 8/9/10 August. Hope to see you there.
