Decisions
I had a nitro rustler about 5 years back haven't raced since. I was really into it and was always at the local track. Somehow I became busy with other stuff and decided to sell it. I want to get back into the sport and am deciding between a Jato 2.5 (not 3.3), a RC10 gt2, and a XXX nt2. Not sure if Losi, Traxxas, or TA has come out with the best car. Any advice would be much appreciated, Thanks!

Also I would like to know if the RC10 gt and gt2 are that much different, in terms of racing? Is the gt2 that much better or will I be able to keep up will a gt1 at the track?

as it has been said the gt2 or the xxxntdr2 is your best bet for racing. as it stands the jato 2.5 is not a legal 1/10 race motor. obviously the 3.3 is not legal either. so if your looking for a good combo a rtr from either team AE or from team losi is a good choice. also much cheaper than getting back into it with a kit truck from either. if you go there to ven just get running you will spend 650 to 700 hundred and thats not very top of the line stuff but very close to it.
with all that said some local tracks on club nights will let you run your jato whatever against all those kits and rtr lois's and team ass. trucks. so its up to you and your budget and your track.

NO A GT WILL NOT STAY WITH A GT2. the gt is a 12 year old design now. and the suspension just won't let it keep up. the new gt2 is a T-4 suspension front and rear and is the truck to beat in both electric and nitro for the last three years.

You can't go wrong with any of those trucks, you have to remember that alot of it comes down to the driver, in essence these trucks all do the same thing, it's an experienced driver that will make use of the technilogical advances from one model to another.
Start with something thats comfortable for your price range too, there is no sense spending alot of money if you may get distracted from the hobbie again!! Factory team kits can be a more expensive adventure than a RTR equivalent.

And as with parts. I like how amainhobbies.com has a section of the site where it will have all the hop up parts - http://www.amainhobbies.com/index.php/cPath/1_24_233 and all the spare parts http://www.amainhobbies.com/index.php/cPath/1_25_232 listed.
Not sure about the wheels though, the JConcepts BJ4 uses Losi wheels
