all depends on motor and batterys. the motor that the rtr comes with is sure to be crap. should be replaced. if you want some speed with any car, look into mod motors or brushless.

not fast enough it needs a three stage n.o.s. system and about a 100 shot at each stage.....or just look at this way its faster then some slower then others...or have your buddy,wife,g/f,b/f,neighbor jump in there car and match your speed then youll know heck if your good enough you can pull one of those fast and furious moves and try to go under the moving full sized car

doubtful he would want to spend that much on a motor, as it doesn't look like he is seriously racing hardcore.

and from what i am reading the stock esc that comes with it doesn't handle much more then a 19 turn....

Mine had a 27 turn motor. It was slow until I put my brushless system in.
Just remember the faster you go the more broken parts you will have.

first thing i'd do is buy a new speed control. the rtr comes with one that can't handle under a 20 turn motor. after that, i'd buy your motor. just make sure the esc (speed control) that you get can handle the motor that you want to use.

good luck!.
