integy lipo VS. Peak performance lipo?
 

what will last longer? the integy 11.1V 3S lipo battery or the peak performance carbon edition 3800 2S? im getting one or the other, but i would like to knwo which one is better because the motor i get soon will depend on the battery i use.

anyone?

I'm NOT a LiPo expert but it seems to me that you are comparing a 3 cell pack with a 2 cell pack. The Peak/Orion LiPo is 7.4 volts while the Integy pack you mentioned is 11.1 volts. The Integy will definitely have way more power because of the massive voltage disparity between the two packs.

I have 4 of the Peak/Orion 4800 mAh 2cell LiPo packs and couldn't be happier with them. We use them as practice packs so we don't tear-up our Slingshot race packs. The LiPo's, in my opinion, are very, very rugged IF you charge them properly. I have used them in my R/C airplanes for over two years have not had a single pack deteriorate at all. Two years later they are truly as good as new.

well i can get the integy pack for the same price as the peak 3800 pack. i know that the 3S integy will have more punch and power, but if its not goign to last as long than i dont want it. i do want power yes, but i also want run time.

The Integy pack has no protective casing whatsoever. It may not be as safe as a LiPo with a hardcase (Orion/Peak) or at least a double shrink wrap like Maxamps and Apogee. Probably better to stick with something that has a casing of some sort as the bare cells are pretty delicate.

but if its not safe, then im going to get the peak pack. because i want something that wont destroy itself and my truck.

A good rule of thumb can be to mutiply the capacity by the voltage (or cells)of any two packs that is assuming they'll be geared and powered for similar speeds.


7.4 x 3800 = 28120
11.1 x ??? = ?????

fill in capacity or the 3S pack to compare.

11.1 x 2500 = 27750
so it wont be as good and wont last as long?

You can't use that to compare batteries...you get an utterly useless number.

IF the voltage is the same, then you can try and compare the capacity...but only if they're measure by the same method.

I have been running Lipo's for over a year now. You dont need, nor want the protective case like the orion's. Just extra weight, waist of space, and holds the heat in. I have started running the made in the USA maxamp batts. Best bang for the buck. I even got a tour of there shop. Way cool guys. And only 89$ for a 6000. Try them, and they will hook ya up.

It is an ambiguous or arbitrary number, but is useful in comparing the two batts. The batts if powered for the same speed/power would be very equal.

thats fine. but after seeing a 6000 for the same price as the 3200, i think i might get that instead. that will eb real long run time, which is what i want.
