Let see a power supply allows you converts power from ac to dc and comes in different amps from 5 to 30 plus. There are several different chargers out there that requires a power supply in order to operate and yet some are ac & dc compatable. Hope this helps.

yea....what redwings said. a power supply converts 120 volts, a/c (normal house current) to 12 volts d/c.....which is what those chargers require to operate off of. you can run that type of charger off of your automobile's battery, but with a power supply (at least the goods one anyway), the current is regulated to a constant voltage, unlike your auto's battery.

I second that choice. I've had that one for a couple years now. I bought it through that same web site. It was able to handle 2 chargers charging at 6A each.
