Default Help! Cannot remove center drive cup

About two weekends ago, the rear center drive cup came out of my hyper 8 for some reason. So I borrowed a drive cup from someone. However, red thread lock is the only thing I had. Now I cannot remove the center drive cup. Do you think not having the set screw in it will cause the thread lock inside the drive cup to break loose while driving? Is there any method to get it out without involving heat?

why can't you use heat? because you'll ruin the bearing? Sounds like a job for a torch with a pen point to me...

good luck

I've had the same problem with a Jammin center universal, but unfortunately I don't really have a good answer for you. I used heat and just kept trying to pry it off. When it finally popped off it flew all the way accross the garage and I had to go search for it.

You can try driving it, but you don't really know if it will come off in two minutes or two gallons. Good luck. Let us know if you find something that works.
