Last I saw Ryan and Tebo were both still running just B4 stuff and no prototype stuff.

If there were a new Buggy in the works trust me the peeps that go to large races or to the practice tracks where these guys run at all keep their eyes peeled for new stuff.

Heck now the pics are on RcTech before than.
It really cracks me up.

I feel the B4 is pretty d@mn dominant!! Everyone is still trying to catch that model, so why change it.

A B5 will be developed and released when the B4 stops selling and winning at the rate it does. Could be a while yet. The B4 could use some improvements, better top gear in the tranny (stock wears kinda fast), longer wearing outdrives and plastic. The car just seems to get sloppy faster than Losi's stuff.

Bottom line is that AE is not the other major brand of buggy. AE does not feel the need to release a new car every two or so years. AE Built a car that has, is, and will continue to win. I whish I could say the same for other major buggy makers.

But the same could be said of the GT when the GT2 came out as well.

BUT, the GT had remained the same for 10 years, and you'll have to admit that the changes on the GT2 are great improvements!

Sales, sales and sales. That is what determines when a new model comes out. I think the B4's quicker wear actually helps their sales. Most guys accept it without question. Most guys I know that run the B4 have all owned 3 and more of them. That's not the case with the Losi guys I know.

Maybe Associated should change the car more often. This is a business and the other company is in great shape, while Associated has financial problems. It's not all about buying the top drivers and winning races on that level. It's about moving product. I'm sure the other company is 2 to 1 in that department.

How do you know they are having financial problems?

Because its easy to make ass-u-sumptions

Cars that work, don't need to be replaced every 2 years...Look at the TC3 - it was "replaced" when it wasn't a dominate car anymore...and the same thing with the tc4, didn't do too hot - so AE started working on a new TC

If 2wd buggy starts getting more popular and other manufacturers starts serious development on 2wd buggies it is a big risk that AE and Losi will get left behind just as in touring cars. Noone wants the TC4 and the JRXs is a joke. These companies need to change their aproach if they will be part of the racing scene in the future.

But AE, and Losi are off-road companies, so I think they will always be on top of the off-road scene (I don't know about Losi, as there current 4wd buggy as been replaced by their old one).
