I am thinking of getting a XXX4 buggy. I have been racing gas for the past 2 years and have been racing for over 11 years total and want to go back to electric. My only worry is will this class be around or just die out after awhile. At my local track we run a MOD class now for the XXX4 but it is a hit or miss. Sometimes 4 to 6 total racers for that class. We get on thursday nights 50 + racers for offroad. What do all of you see at your track and think about this class is it here to stay or what?????
4wd has been a limited class ever since truely competative trucks hit the tracks. Before then everyone who wanted a second car ran 4wd. For Cactus Classic this year they filled the 4wd Mod class (50 entries) in three days. Usually they only get around twelve to fifteen entries. Dont forget that we as racers are responsible for promoting our sport, so I say, get your car and run it when ever you can. And enjoy it! By the way, the XXX-4 is not the only car out there. There is the Schumacher Cat3000 (I run a mod Cat2000 SE) and the Yokomo. While both are harder to get parts for each has its own merits. So pick your favorite and have fun.
