I don't race oval, but I would still go with a xxx-t or a t4.

Well, if it's casual non-sanctioned racing (Like something you'd find at a parking lot track) the best bet is probably a Duratrax or a Rusty. I race my Bandit in a dedicated class for it at my parking lot track and it's a blast. However, it's no good for serious competition. For my "Real" racetrack I bring along my Team Losi XXX-T MFE.

Associated and Losi are the better choice if racing is your main priority.

If pure backyard fun and versatility is your goal, go for a more durable Duratrax or Traxxas vehicle.

In the future, please try to name your threads with a more descriptive title. "Choice of truck for a beginning racer" will give people more of an idea of the question you're asking than "noob needs some help".

Thanks
