i had one as my first R/c..it was very reliable and easy to werk on..very good choice if you are looking to get into R/C cars in my opionion..

They're tough and they're reliable. Quality is sound. Stresstech parts gurantee is great.

In my eyes - these are the PERFECT entry level truck for someone with racing aspirations. The evader is a bit heavy, so the losi and ae crowd will be quicker and turn better - but ive seen evaders put some of the high end guys to shame.

Very similar to a losi XXT.

If you're a basher who wants a bit more performance than a Rustler or a Stadium Blitzer, go for the Evader. It's cheaper than a T4 and a XXX-T, but lighter and more agile than a Rustler and a Tamiya.

I guess you could race in a stock or sportsman class with it, but if you want to get into racing mod truck you probably won't be able to hang with the A-Main drivers without some modifications. There aren't any Duratrax trucks at my track. There was this one guy who took a Sportwerks Raven ST to the track one time, but it was a practice session and he was just playing around with his new truck.

Duratrax designed it to bridge the gap between the bashers and the full-blown racers, and it performs well in this category.

199.00 = Evader
250.00 = Losi xxxt Mf2

Spend the extra 50 bucks! It will be a drop in the bucket for what you will spend down the road. ;)

$250, with no radio, no motor, no servo, no ESC, an unpainted body, and no batteries.

Average racing setup...

$100 for a Hitec HS-5945 servo
$115 Novak GT7 ESC
$100 for good batteries
$75 for a decent charger
$225 for a Spektrum DX3 radio
$15 for some paint for a nice scheme

Total: $630 BEFORE he buys the truck.

If he doesn't want to race then all that is useless. So is the MF2. He gets the MF2 just to bash with it and break it all the time, that's a great idea. :lol:

The Evader is RTR minus the batteries and charger, and stuff for bashing isn't that expensive. He could use a stick pack battery from Venom and a Dynamite charger (Although I'm a racer and wouldn't).

Geezzzz.......now I feel kinda dumb! I was looking at the nitro Evader St for 199.00.

I did a serach when I read his firs post for duratrax evader st and the nitro for some reason came up instead and I didn't notice it. Looks like the Evader St RTR is 259.00 at tower. Now it makes sence! ;)

Sorry fella's........
