I was wandering if anyone has used losi pistons in ae shocks are vice versa. if so what are the differences in the two. If you run AE #2's What would that be in Losi. I'm new to the offroad scene any help would be nice.

AE #2 is roughly equivalent to Losi 56 (red). There is a good discussion about this at www.rc10b4.com. They have discussed piston hole sizes and flow rates. It really comes down to consistency. Most agreed that it is best to stick with the manufacturer's standard so that setup info could be shared. The drivers that tried it didn't see much benefit.

In Losi the higher you go up in pistons the smaller the hole. For example my CR Buggy I run 57 (Black) pistons with 25 weight shock oil. The rear are drilled 5-5-6 pistons with 30 weight.

The losi piston numbers are actually the drill bit size/number for the hole size. Bits that small are sized 52, 53, 54, 55, etc. It was news to me too!

The biggest difference I have noticed is the three holes seem to give a little more pack than the two hole versions. This would be nice in rutted out bumpy tracks were you can run lighter oil to help absorb the bumps but not have to worry about bottoming out on the jumps.
