Default 2007 Offroad Southamerican Championship 1/8th Buggy (CHILE - Southamerica)

Hi guys,

As the guy in charge of the international promotion of this event, im glad to announce that the 2007 Offroad Southamerican Championship will be held in Santiago de Chile (Chile - Southamerica).

The track belongs to the "Club de Aeromodelos de Chile" RC Club an right now its beign built specially for this event, modifying it based on pilots who test the track in order to have the more challenging track on the history of the southamerican offroad championship. For us in Chile its the first time on the offroad competition field that will be organizing an event of this category, so we are working hard to have a great event for all the pilots.

The rulebook will be 100% IFMAR for Offroad 1/8th Buggy Class (the only class that will be raced). Even with IFMAR rulebook based event, the event as is its not a "IFMAR Sponsorised" one, so any pilot EVEN IF IS NOT FROM SOUTHAMERICA can attend the event.

Here are some pics during a practice last weekend (click on the pictures to see big size version of it) :

Now, during this last weekend a small race was organized on the track to get pilot-opinions (so far the only change will be moving the big triple on the back straight more to the middle section of it) in order to improve the track.

Im leaving you here a 60mb video file of the race, consider this as the first experience of the pilots on this track so you will watch some extra-crashing activity (more than normal heheheheh) ... :

Right-Click here to save !!!

The track its located about 25-30 minutes from the center of the city and have all the accomodations to stay there all day long (air to clean the buggies, water, a club house where you can eat, etc).

We already have pre-registration of pilots from Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Mexico.

Please feel free to post here any question about the event, race specs, weather, etc ... and from now you are more than welcome to prepare yourself, your buggy and fly to Chile to race with us. The event will be between 22th and 25th of March 2007., being 22th for practices and 23th to 25th for qualifying and all the rest ...

cya !!

During last weekend the track record (remember this is the first time racing it) was 48.xx seconds but all people says that maybe will end on the low 45's. The track its BIG (370 meters ++) but its too fast too ... 5 meters almost permanent width.

Any question feel free to ask ...

cya,
