Default 2006 IFMAR 1/8 Offroad World Championships

The IFMAR 1/8 Off-Road Fuel World Championships are being held this week in Jakarta, Indonesia. I'll be posting reports and images each day on SGrid Online.

Quite a change from the super-wet conditions for the pre-worlds - now it's dry and hot! The track is very similar to the old track, but has had some minor changes to improve things.

It is huge, seriously.
Good thing is we have some paid marshalls on site during practice days and of course on race days.

That track is nutz! The winner would be the one with the best depth perception!

Yes, the track looks HUGE ... so far based on some info on the net, the average lap time during the first runs its around 48-49 second/lap ...

if this is true it dissapoints me that a race of this magnitude is being held in that part of the planet....with everything that is going on in that part of the world rite now... lame may as well hold the race in Kabul..

if I heard wrong....please correct me

The only special news about north american pilots are the non-presence of Adam Drake and Travis Amezcua due to Team Losi wanting to promote their 8ight buggy on other European events like the novarossi grand prix ...

Other than that, i dont know ... (Paul Coleman is on the list, he is from USA right ?) ...

And about Team Magic M1 buggy, as far as i know they will not have any presence on the event ...
