Hi all,

Probably some of you already know, but I thought I should let you see the new competetion 4wd buggy from Tamiya. It looks alot like the MR4-BX.
It is still a prototype, so that is why there are some parts borrowed from the RC10B4:

Try using the search button buddy ;)

This is old news.

Captain Harlock 08-23-2006 04:12 AM

I thought so.

This buggy aint so new no more.... ;)

I don't think the current prototype even uses BJ4 arms any longer.

Here's the info on Tamiya Japan's website

11月 【RC限定販売商品】TRF501X(仮称) 予価79,800円

It's gonna be release in nov and it's 79, 800 yen...wow that's like $685.170usd...i bet it's made of gold... :D

Tamiya has lost their FREAKIN MINDS!!!!!! What are they going to do throw in a team driver for that price

geeunit1014 09-21-2006 11:59 AM

tamiya price quotes are always stupid high. a 415 msx (depending on edition)is about $700-$800 on their site, but street price is about $450. you can probably expect the street price to be around what other high end buggies are priced at

The car that was run at the recent world warm-up has changed quite a bit since the first prototype, and it's also got one great looking body

gijoe64 09-22-2006 06:25 AM

Yeah looks very good but I bet the price wll be very ugly. If Tamiya can sell there MSX MRE for 550.00 you bet your buns they will be asking 600-650.

ford_racing 09-22-2006 06:25 AM

that body looks tough

now if only it would work on my dark impact...

WheelNut 09-22-2006 09:51 AM

If you've seen the latest pics of the 501X from the JMRCA 4wd nats you wouldn't be surprised if the buggy sells for over $575. The motor mount is machined out of what looks to be at least 10mm thick aluminum.

bender 09-22-2006 05:29 PM

The MRE can be found for under US$500. Given that the list price for the 501X is the same as the MRE, then it's logical to conclude that its retail price will be also similar.

Either way, it's a bit early to speculate on price - as Wheelnut said the car is just full of machined alloy - how much of this remains on a production version is anyones guess ;)

tamiya hits new HIGH

well i guess tamiya have done it!!!!!!!!! just when you thought that it couldn't get any more expensive....this beautiful piece of ass comes your way!!!!!!! damn it looks good!!!!!!!!!

Intotheblade 03-24-2007 11:35 AM

Tamiya's top of the line cars are always eye candy. But in my opinion, they do have the performance to back it up.
