Tires?

Tires?
Need to get somebody's input on tire choice. Ran yesterday on a hardpacked out door track that had a thin layer of sand on top. I ran 1/10 scale electric truck. I tried bow ties, evil twins, hole shots, and T-2000, none of them seemed to work. Any suggestions?

i assume it was hard packed dirt not clay or black dirt. I would probably run the holeshots when its swept off or try some Ifmar pins when its dusty. the ifmar pins have enough pin the get through the loose top without folding over. good luck

I would have to say try IFMAR pins like Karl said.

Yeah, IFMAR Pins are good but I would also check out Losi Bigshots... They have better side roll support I reckon.
I think red X-2000's are some of the best though.

i'd suggest ifmar's as well, i run on a track that fit's the description of your track.

Thanks for the suggestions. It seems Ifmar pins are what I need to get.

if you can still find any, pro-line fuzzie t's usually worked even better than the ifmar's. you might be able to find a couple of pairs on ebay.

I got a question too.....the track I'm racing on is a bit of everything really we got the really packed stuff with loose dirt on top (some bits are really fine).
It's a pritty bumpy track on some bits too (around corners, it seems that cars have been taking chunks off the track).
I have tries bowties....horrible....sideways everywhere.
knobby studs.......even worse....just no traction.....anywhere on the track.
snake eyes......the best I found yet....pritty consistant. I want to try gladiator 2. do you guys think this will work?
I havent ttries the really fine tires yet eg. (fuzzy Ts)
any sugestions would be helpfull.

Gladiator's are a harder compound (M2 I believe) and work worse than about any other "race" tire. Snake eyes do work pretty well on tracks that have a really broken up or uneven surface and a variety of loose and hard sections. But Ifmar pins are still the king on anything that is somewhat hard that doesn't groove up.

I dont know exactly what you mean by groove up.

he means blue groove......that means that a layer of rubber is laid down on the veeeeery hard packed dirt after many runs and you'll be able to see a dark racing line develope on the track.
when all else fails.....use the tire that will work on any track, anywhere, in any conditions.....step pins. you can get a step pin in several different compounds from several different companies including pro-line, team losi or panther.
