some advice for new off-roaders
ok, i have some advice, you dont have to take it, but bear in mind.
When i was looking for a new off-road electric car, i came across an on-road racer. now, im not into on-road or racing, but when i thought about it, i could modify this little beauty to be a good off-road car.
it worked out cheaper really. if you want to see some pictures, see bottom of post.
the car i used was a 'Yokomo MR-4 BC Super Dog Fighter 2'
this car performs better than i expected, it climbs steep inclins like a flat peice of ground. and has 4 wheel drive.
and when it wants to go, it doesn't hang around!
The mods i made to it are:
Rear suspension < longer shocks
Front suspension < same shocks but i used the old rear springs
Grippy tires < Schumacher 24x6 RIB
Electronic Speed Controller < Very important
Slower motor < again very important
and of course as i am a member of the www.elrc.info
i added our badge to the window!

welcome herbie! i'm glad you've had some success modifying your yokomo....just so you know, the car you have IS an offroad car. it races in the 4wd offroad modified/open class. an example of an on-road car would be a team associated tc4 like this: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXKVY8&P=ML ....you see the difference? i'm not trying to dampen your spirits or anything because i've done the same thing with some of my cars too (longer suspension travel, esc etc...) and enjoy it very much. have fun!
