Is the losi mini t any good, im thinking of buying it as my first car but im new to the world of r/c, please help

i dont have a rc18t(truck) or 18b(buggy). but i know for a fact that it is a pretty good start up car. Just buy a few battery packs and a charger(the included charger is shit), but the pack is decent. This place isnt the best place to post about mini rcs because no one around here runs them...well, some people do, but not all. so it is not very popular here. Try www.one18th.com for mini scale rc car forums. For battery packs. go to www.unitedrc.com . if you are going to go brushless later. go to www.b-p-p.com they have the lowest prices.

I bought one about a year ago, with a Baja motor and a pinon set. I drove it 3 times, then I cleaned and preped it for ebay. It'd prolly be fun indoors, jumping books and running on carpet, but it gets lost on an average size dirt track...it's just too small.

well when i get it im geting a new motor, and its gonna be used to jump wood and plastic ramps im also getting new shocks

The advantage of Mini-Ts over the other minis is their simplicity (2wd, sealed drivetrain). So, if you're looking for something relatively simple to have fun with, the Mini-Ts are fine. If you want something more competitive and complex, the Associated RC18s or other minis may be better.

It all depends on what you want to do.

I've got 1/10th scale trucks and just bought a 1/10th scale 4wd buggy for more serious racing. But for fun indoors, or on a backyard track, or just to bash with between races at the big dirt track, Mini-Ts are a lot of fun.

dude 55, did u even read what i said? i said its a waste of money if you are going to get an original MINI-t and get diff shocks with a motor! it will cost you just as much as a better mini-t pro. thats why i said get the mini-t pro or a rc18t! your better off that way! btw, r40 victim is right, at my local track, there are many kids and some older guys that run mini-ts and they just get owned because mini-s are fun running in small areas, but when it gets to bigger areas and bigger tracks, it totally gets lost because a mini just cant do things like a 1:10th or a 1:8th could

Get the new xxxt rtr brushless. A truck is a better basher that a buggy imho.

im upgrading the motor to a baja brush tonight, i cant afford the speed controler for a brushless, and im changing out to some better tires, it should make it go faster

I got a mini-t and for cheap I would say get a Baja... I am on my 2nd baja and love it...

well thats actually changing... on tuesday I will have a mamba 8000, mamba speed controller, mamba conputer conector cable, 2 lipo charges, and a lipo that is freid(using the conectors off it)
