Default Keeping your bodies shiny

Your RC car bodies.

I found some Black Magic stuff (like Armor All) and it seemed to shine my bodies up really well, but I haven't track-tested it yet to see if it stays on and isn't super-greasy. What do you guys use to keep your bodies looking new and shiny?

I clean everything up with water and simple green. Then I put a light coat of wd-40 over everything once the water has been blow off.

I used to do this for my dirtbike, until I found out that stronger chemicals that get dirt off real good like carb cleaner and wd-40 (wd-40 i think is in the same boat) actually eat through plastic over time I was told by my dad whose a fork lift mechanic. For rc plastics idk if this would be the best idea.

I would use black magic if I had the chance. I would say you took the right approach Bobby, because any basic auto body cleaner such as that should be more than enough for an rc car. Easier options are Windex, 409, Simple Green, etc. Pulling the body off the car and rinsing it in warm/hot water is never a bad idea.

Parma Fashine works well. Better than Body Blast by Trinity.

It keeps dirt from sticking and that alone helps to cut down drag as if it mattered that much.

using wd-40 won't eat the bodies, but harsh cleaners, i.e. carb cleaner, will, simple green works really well, as does rubbing alcohol. to make them shiny, hmm, spit shine,

The absolute best ever is Rain-X wipes.
Wash it good with dawn and a SOFT cotton
cloth, dry it off immediately after washing
also with a SOFT cotton cloth and then use
the Rain-X wipes. Let that dry for a while,
then buff really well also with a SOFT cotton
cloth for an awesome shine.

Pledge and car waxes will usually end up clouding
the lexan after several uses due to build up.

Never had a body last long enough to cloud up.

Correct about using motor spray, nitro cleaner and acetone on body shells because they will become brittle and start cracking.

Mop n' Glo..

People use it on atv plastics all the time to hide the scratches, etc.. sounds kinda stupid, but floor wax is basically nothing more than a non-buffing thin wax..
